Visit to Bangladesh was between 29th January and 4th February 2019. This year, joining the official of ORISON CHARITABLE TRUST (OCT) – Shaykh Mujahidali Sheriff were: –

MEETING THE STUDENTS SPONSORED BY OCT IN KHULNA
OCT sponsors 74 students in higher education through the Islamic Centre in Khulna. It pays 50% of their tuition fees, gives monthly stipends to the students and supports their hostel meals. The students are from the rural areas of different districts and together with their secular pursuit, a special Islamic Studies and Discipline program has been structured for them for their Tarbiyah.

The annual expense of supporting these children in their education is £13,140 which includes 50% of tuition fees, meals and monthly stipends.

PHULTALA CENTRE CONSTRUCTION
There are about 22 Shi’a families in this area. For many years, they have been conducting their religious program in homes. During OCT’s visit in 2018, a family in the area donated a small piece of land adjacent to their home to build a Shi’a centre. Alhamdulillah OCT has embarked on this project. 80% of the construction is complete and the remaining work will be completed in the next three to six months INShaAllah. Meanwhile, all religious programs have already begun at this centre Alhamdulillah.
The centre is dedicated for the Isaal-e-Thawaab of Marhum Mohamedraza Bhai Nensi of Wessex. May Allah (SWT) elevate his status and position his noble soul among the choicest of His servants – the Chaharda Ma’soomeen (as) – ilaahi aamin.

MASJID IN KASHIARA
Last year, Orison Charitable Trust constructed a Masjid in Kashiara with the help from a single donor. Alhamdulillah the Masjid is now being fully utilised with various religious activities including Muharram, Safar and Mahe-Ramadhan programs. There are approximately 150 Shi’as within the vicinity benefitting from this Centre. OCT officials and guests visited this Masjid during the trip.

FLAG OF IMAM HUSAYN (AS)
This year Shaykh Nadir Jaffer brought along the flag from the dome of Imam Husayn (as) in Karbala that has been gifted to the World Federation of KSIMC to Philippines and Bangladesh. The flag was taken to all the places we visited and the response from the Shi’as was overwhelming. Due to poverty, this flag was the nearest these Shi’as of Ahlulbayt (as) could come to and benefit from its Blessings. In Bangladesh, people resorted to recitation of Marathiya and lamentations while holding firm to the flag. Indeed, a very touching moment and experience for us all.
